Intelsius Adds Two New Category A Shipping Solutions
(YORK, United Kingdom) – Intelsius, a global manufacturer and distributor of environmentally safe, temperature-controlled and regulatory-compliant packaging solutions, has added two new Category A shipping systems to its existing line of Biotherm packaging solutions.
Biotherm Category A shipping systems are designed to ensure full compliance with IATA, ADR, and 49 CFR (DOT) for the transport of infectious substances. In order to become certified, the complete system was put through a number of stress tests, including puncture tests, pressure tests, rain exposure and drop tests from a height of nine meters.
The new Biotherm 7 and Biotherm 14 systems were developed using a patent-pending process that is designed to optimize shipping volume and minimize freight costs. This innovative system is also prequalified to maintain sample integrity during dry ice shipments for up to 240 hours.
“By adding the new Biotherm Category A certified systems to our existing product offerings, we are now able to offer our customers more shipping solutions for their transportation needs,” said David Walsh, Founder and CEO of Intelsius. “With the growth of global research initiatives, these high-performance solutions will be a true asset to the global research and development community.”
Biotherm has an ergonomic design that features unique, sturdy carry handles to enable careful handling throughout the cold chain shipping process. The design helps users reduce the associated risk of lifting heavy, bulky boxes. In addition, the shippers have a tongue and groove lid that provides quick assembly while ensuring optimal performance.
The Biotherm system comes standard with Pathopouch, a leak-proof secondary container that was extensively tested to ensure optimal protection for a wide range of samples, including blood tubes, specimen containers, swabs and medical devices. Designed to comply with the latest IATA guidelines, the absorbent pouch has a simple closure system and easy-tear opening.
